The Wind
Noteworthy is the wind. Remember we’re at the sea so there is a “sea breeze”. Historically, the wind in Corpus Christi during October blows at an average speed of 14.4 mph. A 14-mph wind is considered to be a moderate breeze on the Beaufort wind scale. This type of wind can cause small branches to move and can make it difficult to hold an umbrella steady.
What This Means for You:
- Dress for warm weather during the day. Short sleeves preferred.
- If you plan to be outside for a lengthy period, you’ll need to apply sunscreen several times each day, and maybe wear a hat and sunglasses.
- If you’re out in the evening, especially near the water, the breeze could make you slightly cool.
- But our dog show is indoors within an air-conditioned convention center.
- If you tend to get cold in these environments, bring a sweater!
