Volunteers Needed

We are excited for the 2024 Sea Spells Samoyed National Specialty! A great specialty needs awesome volunteers. We hope you will consider volunteering any time you are not busy with your own dogs – if you’ve got two hours, we can use you!

Thank you so much for helping out at the 2024 Specialty in Texas!

Here are a few of the areas we need volunteers for during the week of the specialty:

  • Hotel Grounds (outdoors): we still need someone to volunteer for this job; this includes emptying the poop buckets around the hotel and ensuring there are poop bags available at each poop bucket station; contact Beth Riley briarwild@comcast.net
  • Hotel Grounds (indoors):  need one person to check daily to ensure cleaning supplies are available on each floor of hotel; contact Beth Riley briarwild@comcast.net
  • Performance events – Sunday, 10/20/24, at 5:00 PM at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds (approx. 20 minutes from show site), we will need people to help erect snow fencing and tents in preparation for Fast CAT the following morning.  On Monday beginning at 8:00 AM, we will need a variety of bodies available to help check exhibitors in for events, direct people to events, empty poop buckets, and provide information for all attendees; contact Rod Martin fivemkennel@gmail.com
  • Weight Pull: ask Robin Clark how you can help with Weight Pull Monday or Tuesday evening; snobizclark@comcast.net
  • Art show: daily – sitting to supervise the art displays
  • Hospitality: daily – ask Marijean Zacha how you can help register attendees and hand out welcome bags and name badges; mzacha@aol.com
  • Silent Auction: daily – ask Jane Emmel if she could use your help overseeing the auction tables; janeemmel@yahoo.com
  • Live Auction:  Jane Emmel could use your help late Friday afternoon to transport auction items to the auction room; janeemmel@yahoo.com
  • Awards Banquet:  Paula Exline could use your help late Saturday afternoon to transport centerpieces to the awards banquet; exlinefamily580@msn.com
