Though we continue to work toward offering barn hunt, it is doubtful we will. That is the weekend of the barn hunt national and all the local barn hunt clubs are telling us they will be heading there.
We will not offer herding. There are few sheep living locally. Corpus Christi is on the coast, on a salt flat, and you’ll see very little hoof stock because of the saline soil.
We had sheep lined up to be brought to a local fairground but then found that the AHBA now requires that sheep live on the premises where they will be herded so transporting them in is not allowed. We enlisted the help of multiple herding aficionados, including herding judges that live in Texas. Those experts found that most facilities were between 3 – 8 hours away and did not have the appropriate stock for ‘testing’ dogs. The sheep must be suited to working with Samoyeds or it can turn into an unpleasant experience for novice dogs and handlers. The decision was made to be safe and not sorry.
Yes, check out the store!

Guestrooms begin on the 4th floor and go up. Note that if you choose to book a room on the 4th or 5th floors, some of those rooms do not have balconies. The parking garage obstructs the balconies and can impede your view of the water therefore we’ve asked the Omni to book our guests starting on the 6th floor and going up. To get the best view, we recommend you book a room on the 8th floor or higher. You can ask them to override our request to book you on the 6th floor and above; they are willing to place you on the 4th or 5th floors.
